Warbirds of Mars

Above is a quickie warm-up sketch homage to a great webcomic called Warbirds of Mars by Doc and Kane. I recommend you go check out! It's fantastic! It's an alternate, pulpy take on WWII in that aliens intercede in 1944. If you have an affinity for old school serials, The Shadow, or even Indiana Jones, then I suggest you check it out. It's great stuff!

Amazing Arizona Comic Convention (is over)

A great time was had by all at the Amazing Arizona Comic Convention this weekend. I just got back myself. I met a zillion very, very cool people, and wanted to give a quick shout out to Kessler, David, Michael, Doc, Nate, Balke, Vigil, Glen, Quang, Brian, Sepulveda, Raven, Power Girl (yeah, Power Girl - she's just too cool for school), and a million others that I can't remember off the top of my head right this instant, as it's all so fresh. But most of all, I'd like to thank Miss Awesome Herself - Melissa Fischer! I wouldn't have even been there if it wasn't for all her hard work and Awesomeness with a capital A. Thanks, everybody, and I'll see you at the next one, wherever that may be. Though I don't think I'll be in Albuquerque next weekend after all, but I wish everyone who's going to be there great luck and good fun!

Amazing Arizona Comic Convention

I will be at the Amazing Arizona Comic Convention in the Mesa Convention Center this weekend (Friday through Sunday) at TABLE 38 in the Artist's Alley. Come by and check out my stuff and talk with me and buy some prints or originals or sketches right there on-the-spot! It looks to be fun with lots of cool people in attendance such as the creator of The Walking Dead Robert Kirkman! Be there!

LUCIDITY Issue #2 Sneak Peek

Just a quick look at some of the second issue of Michael Kessler's Lucidity I'm working on for Bleating Goat Comics. The first issue's printing has been delayed, but will be printed within the next few months along with 2 and 3 and then, eventually, a trade paperback with bonus material! Yee! Then onto issue 4 and 5 and so on and so forth.

Just finished up this 17 x 11 inch watercolor piece titled "The Bride". It's going for 200 bucks once I put it up on my Etsy store, but I figured I would give my Facebook and Blogger pals a half-off discount should any of you want it. $100 bucks, 17 x 11 inches, framed and signed by the artist (me, baby, me). I am currently adapting a spooky scary novel into a black and white graphic novel. The opening takes place in a cave, where two people run into a terrible, terrible thing. The novel is called Origin: Unknown by Edward A. Holsclaw II and Wendy M. Easton, and I am having a blast doing the graphic novel adaptation.
