The Punisher

I went all Frazetta on this one and painted this bad boy with acrylics on a 2 x 3 foot board. It's going to be for sale at the upcoming Phoenix Comic Con, people. The original painting.

This last photo is me, the fancypants artist revelling in the badassery of Mr. Castle.

Bask in the punishness!

Wolverine

Click pic to enbiggen.

Admittedly a different take on ol' Wolvie than usual. I enjoyed doing this. No Photoshopping here, either (aside from a slight contrast adjustment), as I utilized the ol' Copic airbrush for the background's gritty shadows.

The original 9x12 artwork will be on sale at the upcoming Phoenix Comic Con, unless somebody out there wants to make me an offer I can't refuse before then, of course.

The Cat Picture

This cat picture was a commission I did a while ago that, for whatever reason, seemed to take forever to complete. I do like the finished piece, though, and I think it bears a likeness to the cat photos that were provided by the client. I just felt terrible that it took forever to finish.

Now whenever there are pieces that take forever for me to finish (usually it occurs when no one imposes a strict deadline or there isn't payment involved), I am apt to call them "Cat Pictures". The Kamikaze Snowmen giveaway pictures have kind of become Cat Pictures. Two down, one to go, though, so I'm almost there, Snowmen fans. In the meantime, enjoy this Cat Picture, which I somehow forgot to post back when it was completed.

Spider-Man

Spider-Man was always my favorite character when I was a kid. I'm going to eventually make an all-out balls-to-the-wall awesome drawing of him for the Comicon coming up, but this was just a quick little pencil sketch that took all of five minutes. Then I gussied it up a little in Photoshop. I kinda like the result. It looks a little retro, and I dig that look. Not something I've ever tried, really.

Rogue

Click her if you'd like. She gets bigger.

I always liked Rogue until Anna Paquin stepped into the role for the X-Men movies and made the character super duper lame and way too young. So I present an old-school Rogue for you. No Anna Paquin needed.

Oh, and if you're wondering why I'm drawing superheroes all of a sudden, simply read the last blog post titled "Batman". Expect many, many more soon.

Batman

Click on Batty. He gets bigger.

I've never been one for fan-art, but the Phoenix Comicon is coming up and guess who booked a table. Me. That's who. So I'm "getting back to my roots" as my best friend told me the other day, and drawing superheroes again. This Batman here is the first stab as far as work produced specifically for the convention goes (the Con May 26th-29th this year, in case you wondering), and I plan on doing tons and tons of superheroes and other geeky nerdy stuff, all the while making it look as balls-out cool as possible because I'm going to be there to sell. I'm going to sell every original piece that I can make (that is, if people want them), and I'll also be selling prints, as well as some Kamikaze Snowmen prints and merchandise as well.

So expect more superhero artwork here on the ol' blogeroo for a while to come.

If you want more info on the Phoenix Comicon, then you can visit them at their website www.phoenixcomicon.com. For heaven's sakes Stan Lee, Todd McFarlane, Leonard Nimoy, George Takei, Full Metal Jacket's Adam Baldwin (also in Firefly, Serenity, and Chuck), Billy Dee Williams, Tron's Bruce Boxleitner, freakin' Elvira, Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson, True Blood's Kristin Bauer ("Pam"), Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Nicholas Brendon ("Xander"), and tons of other actors, artists and writers, far too numerous to mention here. It's going to be an awesome convention this year.

And I'll be there, tucked away in little corner all four days selling every piece of artwork I've ever created. Okay, well maybe not every piece, but most of it. The good stuff, anyway. Maybe the crap stuff, too, if anybody's that eager for crap. Or. Rather, what I consider crap. Some people consider what I consider crap to be poop, feces, scat, or good artwork.

14,000 people showed up last year, and they're saying it's going to be even more this year, so wish me luck on selling some artwork and maybe making a few connections, too!

So let the comic nerdery drawings begin!
