Behind You

Been watchin' a lot of movies of late, but someone mentioned I hadn't blogged about it here. So here goes, real quick like:

THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES (1976) - Is there a better movie than this? Seriously. And I'm not even the biggest Clint Eastwood fan in the world, but this thing is freakin' great all the way around. It's badass and really funny. First time I saw it I was a wee lad of 11 or 12 sitting with my Dad. Well, it's aged incredibly well. There's not a false note in it. Anywhere. Its awesomeness is nearly unrivaled.

THE INGLORIOUS BASTARDS (1978) - soon to be remade by Quentin Tarantino (under the title INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS for some odd reason - and with Brad Pitt). The original is really kickass. It's a big, mean, dirty "men-on-a-mission" World War II movie not unlike The Dirty Dozen or The Guns of the Navarone. Only ass-kickier. And with Fred Williamson. Who kicks ass. Did I mention there's a lot of ass-kicking in this movie? Well there is. So there.

PURANA MANDIR (1984) - An Indian (dots, not feathers) Bollywood horror movie. That's right. A horror movie with musical numbers. In Hindu. You ain't seen nuts 'til you see this thing. It was the first of a long line of horror movies the Ramsey brothers made in India. It's three hours long and there is never a dull moment. Entertainment that goes to eleven, man.

ASSAULT! JACK THE RIPPER (1976) - a Japanese Nikkatsu expoitation movie that acts more like an artsy Quentin Tarantino movie than anything. It's about a cakemaker and a waitress deciding that the best erotica is killing girls with a cake knife. The movie may not sound like much, but it's actually extremely well made and a slow burn to watch. Good stuff.

Oh, and I finished Buffy season 3. Taking a break before hitting season 4.

Oh, and I acquired the MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 VOLUME 14! That makes 14 out of 14 wonderful volumes I know possess! It's got some real good ones on it, too. I love you, MST3K!

Anywho. That's it for now. Off to watch some bad movie goodness. Later, all! Have a great weekend!
