What I Did For My Birthday

No, it wasn't a strip club, it was the Phoenix ComicCon. And, yes, two of those four women are very, very nude. But you wouldn't know it to look at them due to an outstanding bodypainting demonstration by the great Mark Greenawalt. You can check out some really impressive work of his at www.futureclassx.com. In the meantime, though, I'll give you a step-by-step below.

He spent most of the time working on the Evil Queen above. He was going for the traditional Disney Snow White and the Seven Dwarves look.

Below we have (a bit pressed for time and rushed) Goldilocks minus her three bears. He did some neat tricks with her, though, like putting material up as a screen of sorts to spray paint through, and doing some nice lacing effects. Check it out:

Spraying on the garters:

Some nice details through fabric (you can see the gold paint better a couple of pics below):

But front row full-frontal nudity and coddling and taking goofy pictures with beautiful women wasn't enough for me. I also ran into some really, really interesting people, made a contact or two. I listened to comic book artist turned toymaker extraordinaire Todd McFarlane talk about everything Spawn...

The Toddster:

And, of course, no day of geekdom would be complete without getting picked up by stormtroopers. I told them I wasn't with the freakin' Rebel alliance, but they just wouldn't listen!

The Man Who Would Be Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew - huge, tall guy) was there, too, but I didn't get a photo of him yet. Oh, and original Incredible Hulk Lou Ferigno was there too, but, alas, where was that dang-blasted camera?? Oh well. Maybe next time.

I did run across Tim Seeley, the creator of Hack/Slash (soon to be a major motion picture) and Ben Templesmith (co-creator and artist on the original 30 Days of Night) as well as some other really cool cats like writer Dan Wickline and artist Tony Parker - far too many to mention here. Besides, is anyone really reading this right now, or just oogling the boobies above? I mean, really.

Oh, and to everyone who called to wish me a happy birthday while I was oogling boobies right in front of me from the front row while inhaling airbrush spray - thank you! You guys are all awesome - but boobies beckoned.

I digress.

A great day had by all.

And by all I mean me.

Cheers, everyone.
