They Can't All Be Winners
I really hate this drawing. But it's the only thing I drew today, so I blog, blog, blog away.
I feel like my last few days worth of drawings have been kind of off. Every once in a while I get that way, as I'm sure most people who draw do; where they feel like they're drawing crap for a while. It's weird, because I've always felt that drawing is an acquired skill, and not some magical talent. It shouldn't have to do with inspiration or mood or anything. But sometimes it does. And sometimes the magic just isn't there.
Weird.

Don't Pout, I'm A Born-Again Snowman Soon!
YES, IT'S TRUE! I will be appearing live, onstage with the the other remaining members of the most glorious band in the entire universe THE KAMIKAZE SNOWMEN (previous members who died tragically in fiery plane crashes, automobile wrecks, and sudden bridge collapses will not be attending) for one night only at The Nestor Tavern in Fargo, ND on Friday, February 26th at 8pm for ROFLMANIA 2.
It's the first time in almost 5 years that the band will be together again in one place. Mainly, that's because the same matter can't occupy the same space - we're still worried about creating another unfortunate time/space paradox - and also because there was a big ordeal over who killed who's hooker way back in 2005. For the record, I killed my friend Ralph Dinsdale's hooker with the assistance of Josh Trumbo and Paul Tebben, but only after we all realized it could jeopardize Dinsdale's future political campaign. I wouldn't say the band "broke up", but we had some differences in a VH1-Behind-the-Music-kinda-way, and we went our separate ways. There were tears and many, many corpses left in the trail of the great Kamikaze Snowmen.
And now, due to popular demand (or merely the fact that airfare isn't as expensive as it should be at the moment), I will be returning to join the band in a rare, exclusive, one-time only extravaganza which will rock your balls (those without balls will be provided balls at the Nestor Tavern with which to rock).
I'm so excited to see my good friends again and have a good time making a fool of ourselves in front of a number of strangers. Ah. That's the stuff.
Please be there - everybody - or attend in spirit (I'm looking at you, Ralph Dinsdale's hooker).

Old Beardsly and The Kamikaze Snowmen! And How!
Above is Old Beardsly.
Below is a freeze-frame from a brief 2001 interview with The Kamikaze Snowmen! Follow your nose and watch the video below, too, by boldly clicking on it! It's marshmallowy good! I don't know who dug up this thing, but it's awesomeness incarnate. In the interview, for those who aren't in the know, that's Paul Tebben on the left, Joshua M. Trumbo (or Josh, as we like to call him) in the middle, and good old me on the right looking momentarily confused! Was I so pilled up I didn't know where I was? You'll have to find out! (clue - I wasn't pilled up, but I can't remember if I knew where I was or not) Enjoyable? You're soaking in it!
BUT WAIT! THERE'S EVEN MORE BELOW! It's in the incredible form of a song called "How" by the uber-talented and much aforementioned Kamikaze Snowmen. This incarnation of the tune is yet another live recording from the official Kamikaze Snowmen Archives (The Vault of Doom and Gems - really the Fort Knox of the Kamikaze Snowmen world). Very personal stuff. Very personal. And Frank. And Lloyd, too.

"Miscellaneous Holiday"
The Kamikaze Snowmen proudly present, at long last, a holiday-themed song that can't possibly offend anyone!
I'm incredibly happy with the way this song turned out! Yeah, we missed the major holiday season by a week or two but we're The Kamikaze Snowmen, so you just know it's worth the wait! And the song is freakin' free! Enjoy it before we start charging you in the tradition of the major holiday season!

One Of Three
Only had time to draw a third of a sketchbook page today. I figure I'll post the next third tomorrow and the final third on Friday. It's going to be three guys from the ancient world looking off into the distance.
Man, who's got time to do anything anymore? Sheesh.

Bruce
Update - 2:59am - I just spent two and a half hours of my life watching Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I was determined to like it despite all the bad things I had heard about it from so many people, and because I really, really enjoyed the first one. But, really. What the fuck?! How did such a pile of shit get made and why did so many millions of people go and see it? Was this movie raking in a billion dollars a result of some kind of mass hysteria or hypnosis? Did a couple of ten-year-olds write this thing? What a disappointing, total colossal waste of time. Shit, man. And I really liked the first one. I really like most Michael Bay movies for the most part, truth be told (I hate to admit it, but there it is), but this thing is fucking terrible. Aghghhgghhhh.

Metal Hats And A Sad Puppy Song
Don't ask about the men with the metal hats. They're clearly irritable.
The Kamikaze Snowmen regret to inform you that our holiday-themed song is running later than ever before. It's my fault, everybody. Or are we just trying to build Avatar-type hype by delaying the incredible release?
No.
It's just my fault.
However, below is The Kamikaze Snowmen's sad little puppy diddy "Man's Best Friend". Beat Harry Nilsson to the punch and listen with your punched ears!

Monkey Shine
The Hairdryer Monkey is my first drawing of 2010. The other two crappy sketchbook pages are among my last few drawings of 2009. I suppose there's really no significance to any of this. It's just amusing to point out. And by amusing I mean insignificant.
I just saw the film The Room in a theater with an audience shouting at the stupidity on the screen and literally throwing plastic spoons at it. This movie must be seen to be believed. It's freakin' priceless how inept and hilarious it is. It's so bad it's good.
I also saw The Road recently, and it's as good an adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy book that there could possibly be. It's really fantastic. Viggo Mortensen, as always, deserves an Oscar.
Anyways, I must get back to work. The Kamikaze Snowmen have a new holiday-themed song on the way, and I'm the reason for the hold-up on it. I feel bad because it's such a great song and I haven't had time to do my puny little bit of it, but hopefully it will be worth the wait.
Later, all.

New Year's Day 2010
Happy New Year, everyone! It's 2010: The Year We Make Contact! Yowza!
I've had a very busy End Of 2009, and I haven't been able to keep up with a few things - this blog being one of them, but here's to hoping that 2010 will be better! I've made a few resolutions I hope to keep. Have you? No? Shame on you! Oh, wait - you have? Well, I can't hear you. This is a blog entry, not a real conversation. Sheesh.
Happy day! May your year be full of awesomeness and wonderfulicity!
